Message from Bradenham Bowls Club

Elmham League Champions

Bradenham Bowls Club

After a long period of hearing comments “suggesting we’re holding everyone up” i.e. bottom of the table, I can announce that Bradenham Bowls Club have up their game and won in the Elmham League which gets us promoted. Ok its not Premier league status and we’re not complacent, but in our world it’s a brilliant achievement. Congratulations and thanks must go to the League Captain, Alan Everest and the members who played their part throughout the season. Well done.

As the season closes we await confirmation of final league positions from the other leagues and our understanding is we finished as follows:

  • Age Concern League 1st possibly 2nd
  • Dereham League 3rd
  • League- League Champions
  • Mid Norfolk League 2nd

Well done to all players and thank you for your commitment and support plus the League Captains in overseeing their leagues, final confirmation will be provided next month, the latest updates can be viewed on the club’s website: http://www.bradenhambowlsclub.co.uk where you’ll find a whole load of information regarding regular updates news, fixtures, results and much more.

The annual contest of the Ashby Shield between Bradenham and Watton took place in August. The competition played over two legs went as follows:

  • 1st leg on Thursday 8th August at Watton where Bradenham won 76 – 64, a lead of 12 points.
  • The 2nd leg played on Thursday 22nd August at Bradenham where we lost 57 – 82. Losing overall by 13 points 133 – 146.

Overall, a good effort where at the end of the day there was not much in it.

The Club’s finals day is on Sunday 1st September staring at 2.30pm at the Club’s Green in Hale Road.
