Season Climax
Bradenham Bowls Club
Message from Bradenham Bowls Club
August has been hectic as the end of the season reaches its final few weeks. Following a late run of wins, the Dereham League side, was well placed to finish in the top two but unfortunately just fell short. However, the Age Concern B side have finished top of the western section of their league, a fantastic effort. The Mid Norfolk League Cup competition has seen Bradenham reach the final by beating Gressenhall 92-84 over two legs. The final will be held now on Sunday September 10th with the likely venue being at Whisonsett. The opposition is yet to be confirmed. The annual battle between Bradenham and Watton for the Ashby Shield takes place on August 31st and September 14th. This event is hotly contested in memory of Celia Ashby who played for both sides during her bowling career.
The inter Club Cup competition has been running over the season and the semi-finalists are Peter Clements, Phil Hayward, Rosie Hall and Roly Findlay. The final will be played on Sunday September 17th, starting at 2.30pm at the Club’s Green in Hale Road. This is also the last day of ‘action’ and in addition to the Final, numerous other activities have been arranged. Once again if you are at a loose end, fancy a bit of fun and the obligatory cup of tea please do drop in and perhaps be inspired to join up for next season.
The Annual General Meeting is the final event of the year. It will be held in the Clubhouse on Thursday October 5th, 7.00 for 7.30pm.
