Another season over

As the playing season is over the Club held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in early October.

The meeting provides an opportunity for the Committee to provide a summary of the past year along with the club’s financial report. The meeting determines the way forward for next year and where all office positions are up for election. The position of Chairman (Trevor Nelson), Hon Secretary & Treasurer (Peter Clements) League Captains, Trevor Nelson & Phil Hayward all were re-elected. The following all stood down and were thanked for their long-standing support and commitment in their various fields: Richard Woolf, Tony Moore, Pat Ward & John Wright. David Henderson stepped up and will be overseeing Media reporting from Richard Woolf and we welcome on board, George Davison as Club Competition Captain & Alan Everest as Committee Member. A tidy up day was organised for mid-October where the perimeter hedges were trimmed, ditches cleaned out and the Pavilion was freshened up. All in readiness for at the end of the month the Green to be treated by being scarified, and re-seeded. Huge thanks to all members who turned up to complete some of these less glamourous tasks. Must have been the added attraction of Bacon & Sausages in rolls kindly supplied and cooked by Katy Hillier followed by some Bradenham Cake.

A variety of social events during the winter months are planned and allows for members to meet up and keep in contact with each other, they are:

• 7 for 7.30pm Thursday 1st December 2023 – Christmas Bingo – Village Hall
• 12.30pm Wednesday 17th January 2024 – Game of Hoy & Jacket Potato Lunch
• 12.30pm Wednesday 14th February 2024 - Pavilion Bingo
• 12.30pm Wednesday 13th March 2024 Quiz with Hot Dog Lunch
