Moving towards Christmas

Message from Bradenham Bowls Club

During the first week of October the Club held its Annual General Meeting (AGM). The meeting provides an opportunity for the Committee to outline all the positives of the previous year and events for the 2023 season. During the meeting Simon Hillier stood down as Chairman to be replaced by Trevor Nelson. Many thanks to Simon for his hardwork over the last few years and good luck to Trevor as he steers the Club forward in the months and years ahead. The meeting also conferred a Life membership for all his years of service and loyalty on Mick Findlay. First event of the winter was to put the Green and Clubhouse to sleep. Huge thanks to all members who turned up to complete some of these less glamourous tasks. Once again the provision of bacon rolls and sausages makes even the most menial of tasks palatable. Other events during the winter months, to keep members in contact with each other, are a Christmas Lunch and a range of lunchtime activities that include “eats, quizzes and card games”.

Prior warning to everyone, Christmas Bingo will be held in the Village Hall on Friday December 2nd with a 7 for 7.30pm start. This has always been a highlight of the Club’s year and extremely well attended by members and friends alike. So please put the date in your diaries and there will be no excuse not to attend.
