Shorter Days, Longer Nights

The season is over, the Green’s been put to bed and the Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held on 3rd October 2024.

The meeting was an opportunity for the Committee to provide a summary of the past year along with the club’s financial report. It determines the way forward for next year and where all office positions are up for election. The position of Chairman changed from Trevor Nelson to Phil Hayward, Vice Chairman was Tony Moore taking over from Phil Hayward, Hon Secretary & Treasurer remained as Peter Clements (I must be doing something right) League Captains, Phil Hayward & Pat Davison were re-elected. The following stood down and were thanked for their support and commitment in their various fields, Trevor Nelson & Alan Everest. A tidy up day was organised for 1st September prior to the AGM where the perimeter hedges were trimmed, ditches cleaned out and the storage sheds and Pavilion was freshened up. All in readiness for 4th September where the Green was scarified, re-seeded along with six ton of . Huge thanks to all members who turned up to complete some of these less glamourous tasks. Must have been the added attraction of Bacon & Sausages in rolls kindly supplied and cooked by Katy Hillier followed by some home cooked Bradenham Cake.

A variety of social events during the winter months are planned and allows for members to meet up and keep in contact with each other, they are:

• 12.30pm Wednesday 23rd October 2024 - Quiz with Soup Lunch (special thanks to all those who attended and contributed)
• 7 for 7.30pm Friday 6th December 2024 – Christmas Bingo – Village Hall
• 12.30pm Wednesday 15th January 2025 – Game of Hoy & Jacket Potato Lunch
• 12.30pm Wednesday 12th February 2025 - Pavilion Bingo
• 12.30pm Wednesday 19th March 2025 Quiz with Hot Dog Lunch
