As August arrives we reflect on what has been an awful summer weather wise, it’s played its major part in disrupting matches causing a headache in rescheduling matches in a compact fixture for the League Captains and the dedicated team who work on the green. One consolation is that the Green is looking well after all the natural rain we’ve had, compared to relying on hosepipes to irrigate the green this time of year.

Of the matches played, the league standings in all four leagues are favourable which are available on the club’s website, although they don’t give a true reflection on our positions as we’re reliant on each leagues governing body to publish them however, the latest ones can be viewed on the club’s website.

In addition, anyone wishing to try their hand can attend our weekly Sunday roll ups at 2.00pm which gives members new and current an opportunity to hone their skills, check for match selection, have a cup of tea and a Mardle.

This is also an opportunity for anyone interested in taking up the sport, to meet friendly, sociable and likeminded people. No experience is necessary, and all equipment is provided all we ask is that you wear flat soled shoes with no heels or ridges to protect the Green.
